At Manthei Veneer we understand the importance of tomorrow; we have been looking that direction for over 70 years and three generations. That is why we work carefully and diligently today to ensure a well sustained tomorrow.

Our resources are precious, so we start by ensuring that every inch of our logs gets used, leaving zero waste.

We create our own pallets out of the cores of our logs.

We create lumber to be sold from the remaining log cores.

We turn veneer scrap into a heating resource for our facilities.

We are FSC® certified by the Rainforest Alliance to further ensure our forests, and best forestry practices, for years to come.

Rainforest Alliance Seal

The Rainforest Alliance is one of the founding members of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), the largest sustainable forestry standard setter in the world. Products that bear the FSC mark and the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal are sourced from forests that:

  • Protect endangered species and forest areas of high conservation value
  • Set aside a portion of land as forest reserve
  • Provide workers with decent wages and protect their ability to organize
  • Follow FSC guidelines that determine how, when, and where timber and non-timber forest products are harvested
  • Respect the rights of local communities and indigenous people
Forest Stewardship Council

The Forest Stewardship Council sets standards for responsible forest management. A voluntary program, FSC uses the power of the marketplace to protect forests for future generations.

FSC harnesses market demand to ensure forests are responsibly managed. Because FSC is the gold standard in forest certification, it is the only system supported by groups such as WWF, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, Natural Resources Defense Council and National Wildlife Federation.

Today, more than 380 million acres of forest are certified under FSC’s system, including more than 150 million acres in the US and Canada.
